Handing memorandum in Putrajaya. (Source FMT)

We had enough of the authorities cat and mouse games.

Release the 6 Parti Sosialis Malaysia (PSM) detainees detained since 2 July NOW!

On 11 July, a delegation of eight PSM, PSWS and other NGO members handed over a memorandum to the Home Ministry, calling for the immediate release of six PSM activists who are detained under Emergency (Public Order and Prevention of Crime) Ordinance 1969 (EO).

There are six main points raised in the memorandum disputing the detention of the six PSM members. One of them is about the police making false allegations against them.

A total of 40 NGOs and political parties signed the memorandum.

“End the drama. Release the six. Every minute they are detained under the EO, you (the police) are abusing their human rights,” Sivarajan, PSM treasurer, said.

EO 6th DAY : High Court date of 12 August is ridiculous

The High Court decided 12 August 2011 for the first hearing of Habeas Corpus filed on 6 July 2011. The lawyer represented by Edmund Bon and Yudistra Darma Dorai has disputed this date and will discuss with the judge to bring the hearing to an earlier date as  this case requires a decision sooner.

We need your urgent support and concern on this issue. Please join us in a Vigil held every day from 8 to 9 pm in Bukit Aman, send fax of protest to the Prime Minister and also please collect signatures from your contacts and networks to support the release of the 6 Immediately!
